Title: Limitations of include(); ?
Post by: Zealotus on April 06, 2010, 12:57:31 AM
I'm trying to implement eqdkp into my portal as a page (rather than implementing the portal in eqdkp).
But I'm having some issues...
It says that redirect() is an unknown function:
Code: [Select]
Call to undefined function redirect() in C:\xampplite\htdocs\portal\Sources\Subs-Portal.php(1333) : eval()'d code on line 20Which is:
Code: [Select]
redirect('viewnews.php' . $SID);
Yes, eqdkp's index.php have it's own includes (line 3):
Code: [Select]
include_once($eqdkp_root_path . 'common.php');
Any ideas?

Use redirectexit() instead. Like:

Code: [Select]
redirectexit('http://yoursite.com/somefile.php');

Ah I belive I left out a few things... >.<
I was trying to load the page with include();

redirectexit() does work but...
I'd like it to open within the portal if that's possible. :S

Also, how do I add more links in the main navigator?
(this is not related to either the portal or even the current issue but I figure you guys know)

I don't think SimplePortal provides a way to redirect a page AND stay within the portal. SimplePortal does not use frames.

For SMF 1.1.11, the best way to learn about this is to search for Search for [home] in index.template.php.  For SMF 2.0, it is, in a way, both easier and more complicated. The best way to get help may be at simplemachines.org

Would it be possible to load it in an iframe then, using HTML?
(I know frames are bad, but meh!)

You could use an iframe, and yes, it would be dodgy. ;P

Does that program have any functions that you can call to get data from it?

Yes, I belive it does.
Tried an iframe and it turned out blank...

So I'm giving up on loading it within the portal and will add a link to it in the main nav instead.

But thanks for all the help anyway.

Well, an iframe should work if you want to try it again, although it isn't the best solution by a long way.

Marked as solved.

I know, and it didn't quite work either.
Anyway, I'll just add a link to the page.
