I'm sorry. If you want to share something, please post it here or put somewhere, that doesn't require registration.

To post on this forum apparently you need to register I'm correct?................

Very disappointing the way you removed my website link from the topic, therefore I would recommend to specify your position in merit with your portal TERMS & CONDITIONS.

I can't see what's disappointing? You are redirecting people to a forum, which requires registration in order to get what you are sharing. If your intention is really sharing something, please do it here.

Regrettably you have not answered my question and I confirm that you as webmaster you are entitled to remove or edit any topics, messages etc, that may contravene portal regulations.

I always respect a webmaster decision, but it is a normal procedure for a webmaster (before he/she takes certain action.........) to notify member for certain irregularities, WHICH IN THIS CASE I HAVE COMMITTED NONE.

For sharing info that is at discretion of the webmaster therefore if your portal no registration is required well done, and quite frankly you or to whom it may concern as creator of SimplePortal you are not in the position to IMPOSE a registration before VISITORS can download or view whatever..,  otherwise SimplePortal will not last very long.

Regarding my portal..... well in my 22 years experience either in internet and php I always used in my portals that the registration is required in certain circumstances.

I hope this as clarified the situation.

I reniew to you and all members of this portal a very HAPPY NEW YEAR.

In our site we have a motto: LIVE and LET LIVE

Sorry, I'm really having difficulties in understanding what you mean; but if you mean "there is no rule for that", there doesn't need to be one. If you are sharing something in this site, it should be open to public.

FYI: You don't have to register to anywhere to download SimplePortal both from our Downloads (http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=download) area and SMF Mod Site (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1104).

Well as I said that is at discretion of the webmaster.
The question is that I have noticed a certain resentment  from you, simply  because I have not posted in your forum the modification and secondly a registration is required on my site to download the tweak.
Let me put the matter in a different prospective, look for instance (and you may say I don't care about others.....) other major portals that I have used  in the past  like: PhpNuke, E107, Xoops, Drupal, etc, in their forums there are thousands of topics where there are listed external links relating to tweaks and mods made by others.
Let's be honest is quite clear that you don't like publicity in your forum especially when  is concerning your scripts, and please don't offend my intelligence by mentioning the word sharing.
For sharing is intended to give for free but it doesn't  mean you don't after register to get it.
Other portal creators as above specified they are far more flexible with forum messages.

Tonino, your link was removed because registration was required. If users wish to join your website, that is their own choice, but we will not serve as a point of advertising or recruiting for your website simply to gain access to your tip/trick/mod/coding.

If you wish to share your code, post it here. Otherwise, share it with your private forum and let those people make use of it, or post the details for an account that users here can use to access your forum.

As its the discretion of the webmaster (or webmistress in this case) to allow registration and downloads/views without registration, its also their discretion who to allow in the community. Disruptive members don't remain for long. So please, if you have an issue with a Team member, please speak to me in Private Messages.

Well is quite clear that we have a different opinion in forum policies and I respect your decision but please don't try to intimidate people with your provocative insinuations ......Disruptive members don't remain for long.
We don't live a dictatorial regime and my manners were polite and far to create chaos.
So therefore please don't even think to patronize me furthermore I will not try to discuss the topic privately via pm, the matter should be made transparent where other members can take their own conclusions.

Your manners? Hardly. You decided to publicly berate one of our best developers (I'm biased, they're all the best, but anyway) for removing a link. If you were polite in anything, you'd have been mature enough to take the argument somewhere private.

I'm locking this, nothing needs to be discussed more.
