Can you please tell, are you using SMF Media Gallery, or SMF Gallery?

I'm using SP 2.3.1, but this code should be similar:
For Media Gallery, try: (not tested)
Sources/PortalBlocks.php
Code: (find) [Select]
<img src="', $galurl, 'sa=media;id=', $item['id'], ';thumb" alt="" />
Code: (replace) [Select]
<img src="', $galurl, 'sa=media;id=', $item['id'], '" alt="" />

For SMF Gallery, also in Sources/PortalBlocks.php:
Code: (find) [Select]
'src' => $modSettings['gallery_url'] . ($GD_Installed ? $row['thumbfilename'] : $row['filename'] . '" width="120'),
Code: (replace) [Select]
'src' => $modSettings['gallery_url'] . ($row['filename'] . '" width="120'),

Please make a copy of your file before modifying it.

I suppose you can try that, if so you wish.

On a completely unrelated note, please note that SMF 1.1.10 is the current latest version, in case you are still using 1.1.9 (as your profile says) you might want to consider updating it, because it's a security update.

When I did that mod the size of the image did not increase... that is why I ask.

And my version is 1.1.10 and the latest Simple portal is installed also.

Perhaps it's restricted by the size of the block, then. I cannot test right now, but I suppose that could be it. Could you please tell a link to your forum?

Sorry for the delay.
It seems to me that it works, if you change the width parameter in the line above.
Please try:
Code: [Select]
width="220"
In my Opera, it results in a bigger picture.
(I am referring to the block on the main page, with a picture from gallery in it).
