Title: Shoutbox sent CPU useage into overdrive
Post by: Aiko on March 23, 2010, 06:04:22 PM
Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place for this.

I am using SMF 2.0 RC 2 right now and Simple Portal 2.3.1.

I have had simple portal for a while and I really do love its ease and simplicity. However, I had never used the shoutbox until yesterday. It seemed to work pretty okay as far as I could tell, but then when I looked at my site account, it seems that by using it I exceeded my script executions limitations (25081/12000).  My site is still in its construction stage so we are closed to the public and only have 12 members, only 2 of that 12 were using the shout box at the time.

Could this be due to a specific setting I had used to configure the shoutbox block? Or is this typical?

Any help or advice would be very appreciated.
