Title: Hide Article Board in the entire Forum (BoardIndex)
Post by: Divecall on May 17, 2013, 12:33:13 PM
Hello!

I want to add a Membergroup called "Authors". This user can add and edit Articles.

Now my question: Is it possible to use the SP-Article-System (i want to add a special Board for this), but i dont want that this Article-Board appears in the Boardindex from the Forum.

But anyway, normal user can read and comment this articles.

Hope, it is clear, what i want to say...

So you just don't want people to be able to see the articles board? It's possible to hard edit so it won't show up, but then no one would be able to comment as it wouldn't appear...

You'd have to create a new page that submits post data into the article (replies) and have a quick reply (optional) from the portal page (or whatever page is displaying articles).

Sounds like you may want a blog sort of thing -- a board that does not appear on the board index, even though everyone can view the individual topics, if they have some link to them.

There are several "hidden board" and blog mods at SMF.
You would need to check them to figure out if any are compatible with the SMF articles block (if they function by removing permission to view the topics, then this would keep the topics out of the articles block for most users).

Good Luck!
