A question about using custom actions for displaying blocks
« on: December 02, 2009, 10:20:17 PM »
Hello,

SMF 2.0 RC2, Simple Portal 2.3.1, and the questions is about the Custom Form Mod 1.6.

I'm using the Custom form mod for SMF.  I want to display a block on only one of the forms I've set up with it.  The URL for the list of forms looks like this:

http://yourdomain.com/index.php?action=form

When I put the custom action as 'form' in Simple portal it will work right, and display the block on all aspects of the form mod.  What I'd like to do is have the block only display on one form, with and 'id' of '1'.  The url looks like this:

http://yourdomain.com/index.php?action=form;id=1

Is there a way to get the block to display on just that one form by ID?  I have tried many different ways using the ID, but was unable to get it to display on that page alone.

I know this is probably out of your support scope, but I wanted to ask.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

At the moment this is not possible with the 'Custom Display Options' field. In my opinion it lacks several important options that would make something like this possible, for example an 'and' operator, so you could could have an option like 'action is forum and id is 1' which would give you what you want. That is something that is down to be added to SP 2.4

If you want, I can post a hardcoded edit that would give you the same effect?

Thank you for the reply.  I appreciate the offer for an edit, but I can wait until it is a standard feature.

I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't something I was missing.

Thanks again. :)
