Topic: Left side top bar in blocks have image issue in 2.3.3

I wrote in Dzinerstudio the following

The bar in each block in the Simple Portal has the original theme's [default theme's] left side corner bar over the theme's actula image. This is found in every theme of Dziner's and other themes as well.

This is for the RC4 and simp[le portal 2.3.3

I was told this

Blocks are not part of a theme, so you should report this over at SP site.

Is this a problem of Simple Portal? Thanks for any reply.

This isn't an error per say, its more of an issue caused by a fix for a compatibility issue between SP 2.3.x and SMF 2 RC4.

The solution is to copy the '/Themes/{themename}/css/portal.css' file to each of your custom themes from the default theme.

It is not automatic at present. Manual modification required when we add new themes.

There is indeed another way of fixing this issue, it just involves a large number of edits to most of SP's template files. (and will probably remove compatibility with earlier versions of SMF 2) As SP 2.3.3 is a quick bugfix release to add compatibility to SMF 2 RC4, the dev team choose to add the compatibility css to the portal.css file.

Remember that you do have the option of applying those edits automatically when you install SP. Although yes, you will need to copy that file to any new themes that you install.

Your forum's '/Themes/default/css/portal.css' file needs to be copied to '/Themes/{themename}/css/portal.css' where '{themename}' refers to the directory for each of your custom themes.

If your host has a file manager, then that would be the easiest way do to it. You can also do this via FTP.

Yes, my host does have a file manager. Could you maybe please explain step by step on how to solve this? My host has file manger.

It is been some time that I raised this issue. Even though, I copy the portal.css to every theme I load, I was just wondering whether this will be addressed in future updates.

I fully understand that the developers do development of Simple Portal in their free time and when they finish an update, they will surely release to users. But,  I was curious to know when the new version compatible for SMF2 Gold will be released!
