Title: database error with simple portal
Post by: yifan on February 15, 2009, 05:36:59 PM
hello, experts here:
i have installed the simple portal mod. but when i try to set up a block, i get this following message:

Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '='
File: /home4/goasisin/public_html/Sources/SPortalAdmin1-1.php
Line: 398

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.8, while your database is at version 1.1.7. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

What i should i do next ? my forum has been updated to smf 1.1.8 already.
your suggestion is much appreciated!

Sorry for the long wait.

That error appears to be related to database encodings. What encoding UTF8/non-UTF8 is your database using?
