Adding Javascript in HTML block.
« on: June 10, 2015, 03:24:05 PM »
Hi peeps, I need your help with something... :-)

On my portal I want to place a stock quote widget. I found a nice one, but is a javascript widget. I tried to place it in an custom HTML block with the proper HTML tags (me thinks). The widget shows up perfectly when I paste the HTML code in an online Tryit Editor from w3schools.com. But... it doesn't show on my portal. Can you guru's help me out please? I use the theme Zentoa from dzinerstudio, and I'm running the latest versions of SMF and SimplePortal.

Thank you in advance!

Here's the HTML code I'm trying get working:

Code: [Select]
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Page Title</title>
</head>
<body>

<!-- TradingView Widget BEGIN -->
<div id="tv-miniwidget-c1324"></div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://d33t3vvu2t2yu5.cloudfront.net/tv.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
new TradingView.MiniWidget({
  "container_id": "tv-miniwidget-c1324",
  "tabs": [
    "Equities"
  ],
  "symbols": {
    "Equities": [
      [
        "Roxgold Inc.",
        "TSXV:ROG|1d"
      ],
      [
        "POET Technologies Inc.",
        "TSXV:PTK|1d"
      ],
      [
        "Edgewater Wireless Inc.",
        "TSXV:YFI|1d"
      ]
    ]
  },
  "gridLineColor": "#E9E9EA",
  "fontColor": "#83888D",
  "underLineColor": "#dbeffb",
  "trendLineColor": "#4bafe9",
  "activeTickerBackgroundColor": "#EDF0F3",
  "large_chart_url": "https://www.tradingview.com/chart/",
  "noGraph": false,
  "width": "400px",
  "height": "400px"
});
</script>
<!-- TradingView Widget END -->
</body>
</html>

Jazzpa,

  Your HTML block works fine although it will not work for preview mode.
Also the only parts you need are contained within the body of the HTML therefore the rest can be disregarded.

Tradingview chart ~ HTML block:
Code: [Select]
<div id="tv-miniwidget-c1324"></div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://d33t3vvu2t2yu5.cloudfront.net/tv.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
new TradingView.MiniWidget({
  "container_id": "tv-miniwidget-c1324",
  "tabs": [
    "Equities"
  ],
  "symbols": {
    "Equities": [
      [
        "Roxgold Inc.",
        "TSXV:ROG|1d"
      ],
      [
        "POET Technologies Inc.",
        "TSXV:PTK|1d"
      ],
      [
        "Edgewater Wireless Inc.",
        "TSXV:YFI|1d"
      ]
    ]
  },
  "gridLineColor": "#E9E9EA",
  "fontColor": "#83888D",
  "underLineColor": "#dbeffb",
  "trendLineColor": "#4bafe9",
  "activeTickerBackgroundColor": "#EDF0F3",
  "large_chart_url": "https://www.tradingview.com/chart/",
  "noGraph": false,
  "width": "400px",
  "height": "400px"
});
</script>

Regards.
