emma_volleysoccer@msn.com is my email if you can help.
-
Can you please let us know what you tried to do.
Also which versions you use.
-
Yes, I used the 1.1.11x tutorial off simplemachines.org and i got those errors.
-
It looks like SimplePortal didn't install properly, did you get any errors from the SMF package manager when you tried to install it?
-
I just added simple portal by adding the code to the files in filezilla. :s Add my msn please emma_volleysoccer@msn.com :O

The best and easiest way to install an SMF mod is to use the SMF package manager. In addition to putting files in their places, SMF modification installers also make modifications to other files and add information to your database.
Please read about SMF package installation at http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=49.0;sort=subject (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=49.0;sort=subject)
First you should get the package onto your server (via direct download from SMF or via upload from your desktop) http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=93#post_upload (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=93#post_upload)
Then you should INSTALL that package.
I am not familiar with the "1.1.11x tutorial" you mention. Can you give us a URL for the instructions you followed?
-
Yes sure, no problem.
Well first off go here: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1104 (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1104) then theres a drop down menu. Click 1.1.11
-
That is not exactly a tutorial. That is an explanation of all the changes SimplePortal makes to your files -- a set of instructions you can follow yourself, if you have to.
Did you also run install1-1.php? It puts necessary information on the database.
Did you try to install SimplePortal the easy way, using the Package Manager? If so, what happened when you tried that?
-
I'm doing atm, having a few probs :D
-
You are installing SimplePortal the easy way?
This will be a problem if you have already edited them by hand.
In some spots, it will lead to certain simpleportal code being inserted twice.
In other spots, the "find" will fail, and so there will be no problem.
-
Any updates on this issue ranqetwist?
You should try to install via the Package Manager if possible, although you will want to make sure that there aren't any remaining bits of SimplePortal code leftover first.
-
Thanks again for the help :) I'm switching over to smf 2.0 so i'll update you as soon as possible.
-
Before upgrading to smf 2.0 RC3, please uninstall mods first. Otherwise, your database has the information that the mods are installed. But the brand-new SMF 2.0RC3 files will not have any of the mods' changes in them.
Even if parts of the uninstall fails -- you should be OK to go through with the unistall because the upgrade will remove all traces of the mod from your files.
