Title: Portal got bugged, then received a bad code.
Post by: Izzy on September 22, 2013, 06:32:24 PM
Hey guys,

I recently was working on my Forum's Portal, then when I went on my main forum, there were no blocks.. when they were all turned on, then I uninstalled the portal, and then received a bad code,

"Table 'a4233385_afsclan.smf_sp_blocks' doesn't exist
File: /home/a4233385/public_html/Sources/Subs-Portal.php
Line: 369"

All sources are in the folder "Sources" and nothing is missing, I don't know if there is or not but I don't think so. I only received this error after uninstalling. I tried to fix it, and I can see my forum's theme, but only the top, and on the bottom there's a code, like I stated above.

Please help me out guys.

Thanks,

Izzy

How exactly were you "working" on your forum portal? Where you editing templates/codes or inserting custom PHP blocks?

Uninstalling it seems to have messed something up and now SP is half installed, and remnants of code are interfering. I would suggest a clean installation of SMF over your current installation, then reinstall SP.

I was adding custom blocks, such as ones would display IMG etc. Information. I then uninstalled as I saw none of my blocks showing up, I checked the permissions, if they were all on, and they were all true.

Please forgive me here, but how do I install a clean SMF? Would it delete all of my Boards/Topics? Because as far as I know, SQL holds all that information? I will re-install SP after I re-install SMF, but I don't know how to do that right now.

The database is left untouched on a clean installation of files.

All you need to do is download your version of SMF from SMF's website, and then put all the files (minus Settings.php) over all your previous files. Of course, you will lose all modifications you've made, but at least it'll be working.

Thanks very much for your help. It worked, I had to re-upload my theme too, and it worked! Thanks.

Please lock this.

Izzy
