Redirection error? /forum/ or /forum/index.php
« on: July 24, 2009, 04:57:13 PM »
Hello,

I am using SMF 1.1.10 / SP 2.2.2

I transferred my SMF website to a new webhosting. I backed up the databases and forum folder and uploaded them all to my new webhosting. Than I used SMF's repair_settings.php tool to get my new website working. Everything seems to work except for one slight problem...

when i visit my old website with
www.oldwebsite.com/forum/ and www.oldwebsite.com/forum/index.php I see my custom blocks, everything i added onto the simpleportal hompage like so:

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/8684/74317468.png

now on my new website, if i access it with www.newwebsite.com/forum/ i dont see those blocks but i see the news post like so:

http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/6756/15973416.png

but if i access it with www.newwebsite.com/forum/index.php

I see the same thing as my old website. I want it to be like the old website to where if you access www.newwebsite.com/forum/ it will show the first screenshot (the blocks and such)

Any ideas or do I need to explain more :( i really want to fix this, it's just one of those problems hehe.

Regards,
WingZero

I believe that this is being caused by a known error with SMF, have a look at the topic below, it shows a solution that should work.
Must hit "Home" to get portal to open???

This issue only occurs with some server configurations it appears, so that would explain the issue only happening with your new host.

Hello Nathanial,

Perform this edit:
Code: (Find (sources/Subs-SPortal2.php)) [Select]
$portal_actions = array(
Code: (Replace) [Select]
$portal_actions = array(
'vaerk_dk' => true,

@Everyman,
Your solution will be similar, except with a different value, instead of 'vaerk_dk'.

My only problem is I do not have this file, only Subs-SPortal1-1.php

True, but this issue occurs for SMF 1.1.10 as well, the 'Subs-SPortal1-1.php' is for SMF 1.1.x while the Subs-SPortal2.php' file is for SMF 2. You will have to edit the 'Subs-SPortal1-1.php' file (the edit should be the same).
