Title: Advanced topic truncating
Post by: mee on January 04, 2010, 08:21:06 PM
Hello,

I'm using "Board News" block, and it truncates messages by maximum length (in characters). Is it possible to use some kind of separator (like "[more]" or simply "hr") to truncate post where I want it to stop?

thanks in advance,
Michael

Is there really no way to do that? Something similar to <!--more--> feature in Wordpress, or cuts in most CMSes.

Currently SimplePortal will truncate text and then put a ... at the end, which links to the rest of the post. There is also a 'Read More' link clearly visible at the bottom.

That would seem to be enough of a connection between the truncated post and the rest of it. Although if you want to make another link or change how it currently works, then please describe it.
