Title: "Read more" in "Board news"...
Post by: CaLy on March 23, 2015, 01:11:27 PM
Hello !

I want to have a "read more" in board news, like i found in
Code: [Select]
http://www.smfhelp.com/index.php?topic=19.0  wich is newer than this one >
Code: [Select]
http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=1245.0 and btw i dont have SPortal2.php, when i was looking at the 2nd link, so i think that is for older version of SP, right?

Anyway, i applied what says in the 1st link
Code: [Select]
http://www.smfhelp.com/index.php?topic=19.0 but i still see the entire and so large news text instead a little text with "Read more" (a gif but in spanish).
Am i doing something wrong? Or did i miss something?

You are missing that you can just use the [cutoff] tag to put it wherever you want to :P :D

Nope, I never spoke about closing it ;) Just use it once, when you want the text to be cut off. Do note it won't appear anywhere, unless you uninstall SimplePortal.

P.s. If you want to talk about BBCodes in forums and you don't want to mistype them, you can use the nobbc tags - [nobbc][/nobbc] (I just used it twice in order to show the tags), this tag is an hidden BBCode active on your own forum as well by default :) (try to quote me to see the real message if you can't understand how I did it)
