Top Poster block question
« on: September 03, 2012, 09:51:51 AM »
Hello,

I've add Top Poster block using Montly Post, but now in September the post numbers have not been reset. Why?

This is the site and block is on the right: http://www.e-compa.com/ht/index.php

I dont know how the count is decided and also difficult to count on your site (language). Top poster seems to be at 30 - that sounds sensible for September?

I would include a screenshot of the block settings to check its monthly. Then try changing the setting to see what happens for today and all time.

http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=10024.msg52096#msg52096

If this is correct it shows the top posters based on the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days etc. So its more like an average until now. Doesn't reset on the 1st of the month.

If I set mine to monthly it is definitely longer than since Sept 1st so probably 28 or 30 previous days. But setting to today shows nothing ... odd as there were posts in the last 24 hours. Maybe it works from day to day (midnight) for this setting.

Set to weekly it seems to reset at the beginning of each week. Just seems like the monthly setting works differently.

The block is on the right and the first have actually 190 Post.

Ah OK, so it will not reset the countes on the first of the month, but it show the post in the last 30 days, correct?

Is it not possible to configure a block that will be reset every first of the month?

Try the custom code board - see if there is a post in there by searching. If not you could make a request.

Thank You, so I need a code modification to do it? Correct?

You may be able to get the month function to work the way the week function does by copying and adapting the code in a custom php block. You would have to first get the top posters block code and look at it. Try having a go at changing it and see what happens. I think all the block code is in /sources/PortalBlocks.php.

Cant be more help sorry.
