Upgrade from 2.2.2 to 2.3
« on: September 02, 2009, 12:21:40 PM »
Upgrade failed disastrously. No reported errors on installation. But I now have no Simple Portal at all. Can't even reinstall 2.2.2.

Upgrading from older versions
There has been a large development jump with many code and feature changes. Because of this, you will have to uninstall older versions of SimplePortal, if you have any installed. None of your SimplePortal data will be lost from SimplePortal 2.x versions, as the uninstall process will preserve your settings, blocks and articles.

Three easy steps to upgrade your portal!
  • Uninstall your old version of SimplePortal.
  • Download SimplePortal 2.3 from one of the download locations above.
  • Install SimplePortal 2.3, and you are ready to go!

I'm sure you have followed the rule to backup first.

If not, you can try to run SP2.2 in an package parser and undo all changes of this mod.

Maybe it would be easier to re-upload the SMF files, while keeping the setting-files. Run a board search at the SMF.org if you aren't familiar with it.

After that, you will have a clean SMF-install and can install SP again.

Well, it is really hard to help with such little information. If it is okay for you, I would be happy to take care of it for you if you could provide me temporary FTP and admin access.

Otherwise I need a link to your forum, how you exactly updated and index.php attached.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...
