Home button not highlighting as active
« on: August 09, 2009, 01:22:58 AM »
Using the following theme:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=78

Everything works fine with simple portal in standalone.  The only problem is when I'm on the Home tab, the Forum tab is listed as active and I'm having a terrible time trying to switch it.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the edit, board wouldn't let me delete.

Welcome to SimplePortal, Spovik!

Attaching your index.template.php file here would be a good start.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Thank you very much for the help.  Your rewrite does the same thing mine did when I followed the tutorial to modify themes.

In the theme's stock form, it behaves as I mentioned in the first post.  With this modified form, when I'm on the "Home" tab, the "forum" tab is lit up as active.  When I'm on the forum tab, I have no active tabs highlighted.

Thanks again for helping.

Ah, whoops. Forgot to check the button code itself. ;)

I have fixed the button code, and commented out a 'forum' button which doesn't work, that looks like its added by your custom theme...

One step closer!  :)  Forum button works perfectly, home button no longer lights up.  I can give it a go and compare differences, and probably get it working, I dont want to tie up too much of you time.

There was some more wierdness for that button. Should be fixed in the attached file.

This is indeed a strange script.  I'll be sure to share this file with others using this same setup to prevent these types of headaches.

THe home button lights up now when the site is first opened, but clicking it replicates the forum button and there's no way to go back to the stand alone portal page without reloading the website from the address bar.

I can't believe you have this level of tolerance for these things.

TYVM again.

Sorry about the wait on this issue.

Any chance you could post a link to your site? I can't see any specific issues with that file.
