Im still running SP 2.0.4, its very stable and i just need to know if you guys are going to still support it ? case in point can i get a patch for it to patch all known bugs .. 2.1 looks enticing, but i really dont want to upgrade only to have some issues ive seen posted.

thats good to hear, as long as i can get a patch for 2.0.4 to fix bugs, im good to go >:-D

you get the choose if you can display blocks in the forum and not just the portal

Well, it required a lot of code changes. So if you want that, upgrading to 2.1 is your only choice.
