Title: Upgrade and installation problem
Post by: nwobhm on November 13, 2009, 04:08:41 PM
I just upgraded my forum to RC2 and prior that I unistalled the Simpleportal 2.2.2. During that uninstall i got a error while file test. Uninstall checked the admin.php file 4 times and once it gave 'test failed'
And before upgrading the forum I did put back the back-up version of my forum with Simpleportal 2.2.2.
I made the forum upgrade to RC2.
This upgrade lost my mods (like it shuold do), I deleted the old simpleportale package and i tried via package manager to upload and install the simpleportal 2.3.1 , but now package manager says that my package folder is not writeble :(
I have chmoded all my folders and sub-folders to 777 but it won't help.

Have you tried creating the 'temp' subdirectory and chmodding it to 0777 as well?

You could also try uploading the SimplePortal package via ftp.

I tried to chmod that folder also from Filezilla but it didn't work, and I was unable to install the simpleportal.
But now that I saw your message I got an idea and I chmodded the temp folder from server admin panel and that seemed to do the trick and I was able to install the portal.
Thanks for your help-
