Title: SP interferring with Short links mod
Post by: c23_Mike on November 10, 2009, 04:10:14 PM
Hi there !

I have a quite interesting phenomenon.

On my site www.c23.at with SMF 2 RC2 and SP 2.3.1 I wanted to use the Short Link Mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2245).

This mod does the following:

Quote
Save bandwidth by reducing your links from their full location (http://www.yoursite.com/forum/index.php) to a shortcut (index.php).

But when i activate/install the mod, the right panel of SP does not show, like it has been disabled!

First I asked at the mod for help: here (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=345934.msg2350974#msg2350974).

He asks following:

Quote
That's just weird. Unless SP is relying on the $scripturl to make a column. I doubt it though. I don't have SP installed - I can't stand portal systems. Maybe ask them why adjusting something in Subs-Post.php or changing the $scripturl would make that happen? It might be because they are relying on Subs-Post.php and my customization is causing it to change something outside of that function.

Any glue what is going on?
Now for course it is deinstalled at my site.

That mod is not the problem, it works fine on my localhost. Your site is doing something dodgy with frames, your sites url is always 'http://www.c23.at/'. That is likely to be the issue, if anything.

Hi there !

As you wrote first its the problem with my way to call the portal/forum: Within an frame, thats the problem.
Without frame it works normal!
