Is it possible to use SP to create additional non-forum pages for my site?

Nope, at least for now. Have a look at this reply:

There's a Custom Actions mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=331) by winrules, though it's compatible only with SMF 2.0 Beta 3 Public right now. That would allow you to easily create pages of php, html and bbc without digging through files. You'd probably have to update it or wait for winrules to update it if you wanted to use it, though.

If you just want pure html/bbc pages, then Robbo made a Custom Pages (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1347) mod that should work well for your situation.

Otherwise, if you want to do it yourself, custom pages require 1) a Source file, 2) a Template file and 3) a line in your forum root's index.php telling it which action loads which source file and template.

There is a mod over at SMF for custom pages

Is named: Bakers Dozen Pages

Maybe you can use that ;)
