Error in installing Simple Portal on SMF 2 RC2
« on: November 27, 2009, 12:10:56 PM »
I manually created the temp folder under packages and CHMOD'ed it to 777.  Now, I get the following error:

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/homepages/7/d289446499/htdocs/Sources/PortalBlocks.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /homepages/7/d289446499/htdocs/Packages/temp/install2.php on line 959

Any tips?

When I FTP to the site, "Sources" is one of my root folders.  I'm wondering if the path Simple Portal is trying to install to is messed up.  The test phase shows no problems though.

I started down the manual install, but never got passed the index.php.  It asks to replace:
empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess'])
with a bunch of other stuff.  I found two occurences of that string, but none were on their own line.. they were within a line. I'm not sure if I should replace both instances 'in line' or if I should ignore the step altogether.

I would really love to get the auto install to work.  I'm a SimplePortal convert from TinyPortal.  The install went beautifully on my test box.  Now the production site is not so easy. :)

I was able to get it to install..

I unzipped the package locally and copied:
smf2\Sources -> Sources
smf2\Thems -> Themes
sp -> /Themes/default/images/sp

Then, did the install package. That made the install go successfully.

I THOUGHT it was successful, but I have no admin page for Simple Portal.   The portal page has old stuff back when I was playing with an old version of SimplePortal back in the 1.1 days.
All I lack is the admin console menus.  For some reason they are nowhere to be found.  I checked the manual install steps and the autoamted install did everything correctly.. so where is the Portal Config menus?

Can anyone help a fella out?

kerbob, try clearing out your forum cache-- that might make the dropdown tabs appear properly for SP.

Likewise ensure you have full admin permission like maks47 has stated.

Thanks for the help guys.  No luck.
- I am logged in as Admin; 100% sure of that.
- I don't have caching enabled.  I cleared the cache just in case.  No changes.

Do you think I should re-review the files modified on install again?  Could it be a database issue?  Can't wait to get this running as it is supposed to.

In my Index.php, there is a line that is supposed to be replaced per the instruction below:

Code: [Select]
Find: [Select]
empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess'])

Replace With: [Select]
empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess']) && !(!empty($_REQUEST['action']) && $_REQUEST['action'] == 'dlattach' && !empty($_REQUEST['type']) && $_REQUEST['type'] == 'avatar') && !(empty($_REQUEST['action']) && empty($board) && empty($topic) && $modSettings['sp_portal_mode'] == 1)

Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, the code to Find is found twice within lines, but not on its own.  The auto-installer didn't replace either of these two with the Replace With code.  Is the Find code in anyone else's Index.php?

Ok, I re-reviewed all my files and it looks to be fine.  I've attached them in case anyone may know where to look to solve these problems:

- No Portal Admin areas.
- The "User Info" of my forum is not right.  See attached image.  It's missing the "Total Messages" and "New Messages" though the numbers are correct.

 :| I fear I've gone as far as I can go.  Sure could use some of your expert advice.

I fixed it 99% I think.  A couple of directories were missing the default themes folder.  Specifically the admin and languages folder.  I CAN NOW admin the Simple Portal! :D

I can't uninstall the package though.  Clicking uninstall just gives me a blank page.

The post below details all the files that SimplePortal should copy into your forum, make sure that you have all of them:
http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=3845.msg24462#msg24462

This looks like its a permissions issue with the Sources and Themes folders, perhaps some other files as well. Chmoding the relevant files/folders that SimplePortal needs to edit or move files to, should fix this issue.

About the old data, SimplePortal automatically upgrades any old SimplePortal data that is in your forums database, even after the upgrade from SMF1.1 to SMF2.

What error message is given (either on the page, or in the forum error logs) when you try the uninstall process?
