Title: Forum Link Block >
Post by: johanlm on May 17, 2010, 01:40:46 PM
<< New guy. (if +36 years of age can still be considered a "guy" ... )

There is a Top Board block in vanilla installation, but how about a complete forum list block?
As in it lists every category/room that exists in the forum and it alters alongside with the forum if changes are made?
Something in the same line as http://portamx.com/ Recent Topics block (on the left side), but without the posts & topics.

I'm helping my mother and her friends with a community since a few years back, and one can say they ain't exactly "hackers" ...
I showed her SimplePortal since I need to help them to move from phpbb2 to SMF + an easy portalsystem. And in the previous portalsystem there was a forumroom linkblock to every room in the forum. it became very confusing for the to have to hit the "forum" link in top menu and then the room and my effort of trying to explain the whole concept of "Top Board" ... well ... lets say it would be easier to unite Israel in one happy familly ...

If I understand your request, this has been done as a custom php block.

Please read this post: http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=3511.msg22691#msg22691 (http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=3511.msg22691#msg22691)

And see if it is what you want.

If that doesn't do the trick, please post more here.

"a few days later"

This did not work. Most likely due to the code is adapted for SMF 1.1.x, whilst I use 2.0 RC3.
I could do my own i pure html. but ... it's so booooring. ;)
Still, find a tad backwards that there IS a forumblock for SP, but with a twist, to bad I don't have muc use for the "twist".
