Title: Database Problem
Post by: KahneFan on February 05, 2009, 03:59:44 AM
I just upgraded from 2.0b4 to RC1. I should have uninstalled SP first, but I did not and during the upgrade process I has issues. Long story short, when I try to reinstall SP, I get past the part where it lists all the files/changes and when I click to continue with the install, where the redirect page should pop up I get the error below and he install discontinues...

Quote
Table 'ipost.sp_articles' doesn't exist
File: .../Packages/temp/install2.php
Line: 50

Hmm, odd error. If that table doesn't exist then SP should add it without any errors...

Did you make a database backup of any sort before you made the upgrade? Can you restore a backup of the 'sp_' tables?

I did make a backup. I'll have to take a look and see if I can put it in there. But you're right, it's strange that 1. it's gone, and 2. the install isn't (supposedly) building it.

I dropped all 4 of the SP tables in my db and reinstalled and it appears to work. I'll update if there are any other errors.

BTW, I copied the old tables first and will restore with my backup.

Strange. Although I dropped the tables, upon reinstalling the mods all the information came back (http://ipostyoupost.com/Smileys/default/dontknow.gif)

I had the same problem when I've  made the upgrade from beta 4 to RC1.
I just exported the 4 tables, then droped from database. After that SP was installed smoothly as it should be.
Back to database, droped the 4 SP related newly created tables and imported my recent backup of them.
I think the solution should be spread arround until a fix comes to this.
