Am I able to redirect SimplePortal's homepage (on my forum) to an external URL via a custom php Block?

Why not just use the standalone portal?

I am not sure what you want to happen.
If you redirect users away from your forum, they will never see your forum at all!

I found what I need: WPSMF (link: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wpsmf/)

I was thinking about redirecting users from the included SimplePortal homepage (not the forum) to my blog, but then I found the WPSMF plugin. I can do my news posting via WordPress and import the post + comments to SMF.

Glad I found that plugin. No redirecting needed now :)

Thanks though. I'll put my site in the showcase later (sp?) on today.
