Title: Just upgraded SMF - Need help with SP now
Post by: ScottDB on August 05, 2009, 03:43:02 PM
Hi all, I just upgraded from 1.1.10 to 2.0 rc1.2. After I got into the site I noticed that I do not have a forum button anymore. Can someone give me a link to the manual install on SP 2.2.2 for this. Also is there going to be a problem if I had originally installed on smf 1.1.10? Do I need to do anything with the SP?

After such a major upgrade you will need to completely reinstall SimplePortal, as all the SP and SMF code changes between versions (the normal SimplePortal package supports both versions of SMF, but it doesn't install for both at the same time ;)).

The 'Forum' button for SMF 2 RC1.2 is much easier to add, normally no custom edits are required, because of changes made to how buttons are shown by SMF RC1.2. Although there is information about it in the same topic as the SMF 1.1.x instructions: General Custom Theme Tutorial (http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=148.0).
