I'm attempting to upgrade to SP 2.3, following the first instruction to uninstall 2.2.2 I received the following errors -

* 1. Execute Modification ./index.php Test failed

4. Replace ./index.php Test failed
5. Replace ./index.php Test successful

I've aborted the uninstall until I get some advise from you guys

Failing files attached, thanks in advance for any help!

Perform the uninstall process, and then replace your old files with the relevant files attached to this post.

many thanks for the help! I've done that and got 2.2.2 uninstalled.

Now when I go to install 2.3 I get the following errors

I have some problems with the uninstall of 2.2.2 and the install of 2.3 too.

When I tried to uninstall 2.2.2 in our Testforum, I got the failed messages by BordIndex.php and Recent.php. I checked the codes in the install.xml for 2.3 and for me it seems the codes are the same as for 2.2.2, or I'm wrong? That's I ignored the Test failed messages and uninstalled the old version.
The same files were with Test failed when I installed 2.3, I replaced the BordIndex.php and Recent.php with the backup files I made before. I got a Test failed by Who.php too, but here I insert the codes manual.
I replaced the files and for me it seems to work as it should be. If I'm wrong, can you please tell me, which codes in the files are different between 2.2.2 and 2.3?

I hope it's understandable what my problem is and what I did.

The files in question will require a manual edit to uninstall them.

Using the parser follow the relevant instructions in reverse.

The uninstall is complete, it's the install of 2.3 that I'm needing help with as per post 3 of this thread

As per the uninstall using the parse the install of 2.3 looks as though it requires ta manual edit.

I think I should have stuck to 2.2.2, I'm hesitant to do the manual edits following the recent failed attempts I made following the 2.2.2 uninstall. Pity the installer doesn't seem to like my files

never mind I think I'll leave my site without a portal until I can figure out how to revert back from a failed install of 23

Upload the attached files, overwriting your old ones.

Then try to install SP 2.3, it should work this time.

. Its nearly there but I'm still getting an error with the subs file. Error as follows (I guess only point 9 needs to be addressed?) -

Try the attached file. There were some remnants of an older version of SP there.

One of the 'ignore error' edits should work, otherwise the forum button won't be added. Hopefully the first one will work now.

Hi Nathaniel, thanks for your assistance. I have 2.3 installed but now my original shout box no longer works and I'm getting thousands of errors in my logs

Will start a new thread in the relevant section

I've restored from a backup keeping the same subs file as above and got the same results. reverting back to an older subs file has cured the problems but I'm not sure if that subs file still contains old SP 2.2 entries or if this will work for the long term

I have closed your other topic, because they are completely related, and its easier to keep the support issue in the same place.

Did you ignore any errors when you installed SimplePortal?

Can you attach a copy of the Subs.php file that you reverted to? Is that the only file that you reverted back to an older version?

Hi Nathaniel, No problem on closing the other thread, I realised after some investigation that the two problems were related, I tried myself to close/delete the thread but didn't have sufficient privileges to do so.

All tests passed at install using the last subs file you edited so there were no errors to ignore. Subs file attached.

I removed the SP 2.2.2 edits and added the SP 2.3 edits.
