The SimplePortal Team is happy to announce that SimplePortal user documentation is now available at SimplePortal.net
This documentation section will explain how to install SimplePortal and use all its features. At the moment, it covers installation, set up and working with blocks, and provides a link to Nathaniel's tutorial on putting the forum button into custom SMF 1.1.1 themes. Sections on working with Articles, Pages, and Shoutboxes will be added as time permits.
To read this new user documentation, use the new "Docs" tab in the main menu at SimplePortal.net.
A big thanks to Hal9000 (http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=profile;u=2580) and AngelinaBelle (http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=profile;u=1730) who contributed the vast majority of the time/effort that has gone into creating this documentation,
The SimplePortal team.

Good work. I like it. :) Include language support? This would be really good (without translators ;P).
-
Yeah, it would be good to add language support sometime, not sure when it will happen though.
-
I found a view bug. Page description is empty in all Blocks pages. Description is written in the description box below.

I don't understand. Can you post a picture?
-
Of course.

Yes. I had noticed that small display issue. It may be browser-dependent. It happened because I put the description in a table, which was perhaps not quite the right thing to do, given the template design.
-
The Docs page to set up did you get me? Which way is it?
-
I removed the table from that description, so that it looks okay.

I'm not sure what you mean, could you please try to rephrase it?
-
The site is one way to DOCS?

Great work :). I see you've been busy as I'm now bottom of the top posters :P. Won't be long till I disappear from the list completely

There's no-one within 300 posts of you that is likely to overtake you, so I think you'll stay there for now. ;P

Hogyan készült? Mivel készült?
I guess you mean how it is coded. It's a custom mod for simpleportal.net, hevaily relying on the menu functions in SMF 2.0.
-
Hi there!
Wonderful work, looks quite professional!
Why used a new mod, and not something like SMF Wiki?
-
hevaily?
-
hevaily?
"heavily", a mistype I think.

SMF wiki was last updated in December 2009, so it isn't compatible with SMF 2 RC3, it also isn't exactly what we wanted. The coding behind the current page is fairly simple. We may look at changing to a wiki in the future (possibly our own, but lets not get ahead of ourselves ;D).
-
Hi there!
A own wiki .... that sounds well! Looking forward to it!
-
But how will he?
-
It's great to have this online and availale.. SP just keeps getting better guys.
-
Lol, no fair! That was my idea, just ask Eliana. :D
