Hi folks
I am in the process of setting up a front page for my forum and have created a customized vertical menu that I am putting in as a left block. I am getting a large space in the left margin and I would like to eliminate this space completely so this vertical menu is pushed all the way to the left. I tried playing with the css of my custom theme but nothing caught my eye that could help.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Sam

Do you have IE7 or IE8? The Developers tools are very helpful with that.
I can quickly see that
- div "content_section" has 40px of padding
- sp_left has "auto" margin of 5px
- sp_block_209 has another 1 px
- ul class="menu" -- somehow there are another 7px. but they don't seem to come from margin or padding. Some kind of absolute positioning?
I haven't looked into the CSS, thoughh

I have IE8.

So how can I go about removing this space?
Thanks

When you use the IE8 developers tools, you can see what is going on with each of the elements.
You can fiddle with the CSS repeatedly to see what happens.
Then, when you have figured out the best way to solve the problem, you can make the permanent change.
You may wish to put a couple more left blocks on the page while you are fiddling, to see how they are all affected.

Thanks a ton. I have been able to achieve some success. I am doing a little more tweaking and will update you with the results soon.

I'm glad you figured this out.
I'll mark this solved, then.
Mark it "Not Solved" with the button below all the posts, if you want it to show up on the Support screens again.
Thanks
