Title: install is either corrupt or not compatible

just upgraded my forum to 2 RC2
to do so i uninstalled all my packages. i am now re-installing them and updating them at the same time
when i try to install SP 2.3.1 i get the following error

The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

i have re-downloaded SP and it still does not work. i then tried to re-install 2.3 and i got the same error.
i have tried to emulate an earlier version of SMF and that does not work either
any ideas ?

Try uploading the contents of the SP package into a folder within your 'Packages' directory (via ftp), sometimes that can help if SMF is having issues with the mod package itself.

well i tried that and SMF finds the folder but no install button

i ended up doing a clean install in the end
that sorted it  8)
