Title: Clean Install
Post by: tombillings on February 16, 2011, 09:27:54 PM
Okay now that I have tested out all the mods and themes, is there a way to do a complete clean install minus my database. I want to keep all the posts and shout logs and users etc, but I want to have a clean install to work off of now because of subs_php errors and Javascript errors creating issues on IE and Chrome broswers. So instead of hunting down all the errors and fixing, I now know what works and what dont, so is there a way to freshly install while maintaining my db?

Thanks in advance,
-Tom

Yes. Uninstalling SimplePortal will not remove the data from the database (unless you check the option to do that).

While you are at it, you can make a fresh install of SMF, to get all fresh files. SMF 1.1.13 is recommended.

Then, when you have reinstalled SimplePortal 2.3.3 for SMF 1.1.x, you will find all your data right where you expected it to be.
