Due to SEO issues I decided to use standalone option ...
SMF 2.0.2 SimplePortal 2.3.5 default theme ...
-created a directory named "portal" under /public_html
-copied portalstandalone.php over there with the $forum_dir = 'http://www.mysite.org/';
-Configured Sp 2.3.5 to be standalone
-Entered url for standalone version : http://www.mysite.org/portal
Expecting the main page to be forum with a button refering to portal
What I get,
A page with two lines ..
Parent directory
portalstandalone .php
Clicking "parent directory":
takes me to the main forum page (as if integrated- forum and portal together)
cliking "portalstandalone .php" gives error:
"Wrong $forum_dir value. Please make sure that the $forum_value variable points to your forum's directory."
I'm lost ...
What am I doing wrong ?
SEO issues?

I've read that document several times and it's still chineese to me :nervous-happy:.
When I say SEO issue, if I Use SP in integrated mode ( forum and portal in the main page) , only keywords from the blocks are shown on Google WMT "content keywords", not from the forum itself.
So they are almost meaningless like "replies", "who's online data", "attachments" etc.
That is my concern.
I'm using http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/search-engine-simulator.shtml
and http://www.justseotools.org/spider-viewer.html to analyze this.
note: seems my assumption is wrong, using http://www.justseotools.org/spider-viewer.html I can see
all keywords form the forum side. I dont why I didint see them in the first place.
Happy with the integrated mode then :-)
