Title: Simple?
Post by: OzarksReef on March 28, 2009, 10:42:26 PM
I have FTP'd the latest installation to my SMF which was upgraded to 2.0 RC1.  When I attempt to run the install1-1.php file, I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: db_query() in /webroot/t/h/these006/www/Beta/forum/install1-1.php on line 34

Are there any instructions for installation on this site?  I'm having trouble with "the power of simplicity"... :)

If you have SMF 2 then use the 'install2.php' file.

Also, you should be able to install it via the SMF package manager (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=49.0;sort=subject), no need to use FTP.

I attempted to run it using package manager and get this error...

Table 'these006_002.sp_articles' doesn't exist
File: /webroot/t/h/these006/www/Beta/forum/Packages/temp/install2.php
Line: 50

The forum works fine - no indication of any missing tables - no errors during the upgrade from 1.8 to 2.0 ... any suggestions?  Thanks...

That error is due to an unfortunate error with SMF 2 RC1.

The topic below explains how to get around that error:

You should be able to use the 'install2.php' file to avoid manually renaming the columns in each table.

So I should now just run the install2.php file from the browser to  update the tables?

I just attempted that and it replies,

No database selected
File: /webroot/t/h/these006/www/Beta/forum/install2.php
Line: 50

Alright - I actually read the rest of the thread, did the b/u, delete, and restore on the sp_tables ... and it worked!   :-[

Thanks for your help...
