Hi all, I'm new to SimplePortal and SMF so forgive me for my lack of knowledge! I have SMF 1.1.10 and just installed SP 2.3 and I am trying to put a poll block on my front page. I have created a poll in a new topic and tried to add a new block, but it asks me for a Topic ID? Where is this Topic ID? I have tried entering everything I can find that might constitute an ID but nothing is working..... Please, am I missing something really simple?
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
cheers

PS.. Great work with SP...I love it!
You can see a topics ID, by looking at the url when you view the topic.
The url for this topic is: http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=3359
The ID for the topic is: 3359
Thanx Nathaniel for a quick response... I've got pretty URL's installed, would that change the topic ID? Is that why I couldn't find it?
Yes, that would probably be it.
I don't have a lot of experience with that mod, does it change every url that contains the topic id? Can you get it from any of the urls for the buttons on the topics page? Like 'Post', 'Notify', 'Print', or etc?
It changes every URL... I have just uninstalled the mod and now the topic Id's are evident.
Thanks so much for your help!
Regards
Thats not a particularly good solution, because uninstalling that mod will mean that Google will have to reindex all your pages.
Do you want me to try and make a better solution? Maybe you could add a field to the topic page that display the topic id? (a field that is only shown to admin)
