Title: Portal 2.3 Shoutbox Problems

I use the Shoutbox coming with 2.3 and have some Users with problems with writing in the shoutbox. It is not a problem with the rights-managment, because my users can write from time to time and then their shouts won't appear in the shoutbox.

Maybe I have to adjust my shoutbox?

What are they trying to post? Does it only happen for certain text?
What browsers are they using?

How come the Shoutbox does not refresh itself manually?

Your query is a bit confusing.

Did you mean why the shoutbox doesn't automatically refresh itself?

If so, there is a method to do this. In Admin > SimplePortal > Shoutbox > Shoutbox List (add or modify your shoutbox), you can set the shoutbox to autorefresh simply by entering a value in the line "Auto refresh(seconds)". Any value over 0 will make the shoutbox auto-refresh.

Was a solution to this problem ever figured out?

I am runnning SMF 2.0 RC4... I recently installed sp 2.3.3. Likewise, I am using the sp Shoutbox. When ever I type into the text input box in the shoutbox and hit "Shout"... the text in the shoutbox all disappears. It doesn't matter whether the shout is from me or not... it just disappears. The names of the people who have posted shouts are still there... just no shout text. The odd thing is when you refresh the page... all the text shows up and everything returns to normal until the next shout is made... then it all disappears again.

If there is a thread discussing this... please direct me there... if not, has a solution be found for this problem?

Also... It happens in all browsers used at this point... and with all text colors tried.

Do you, by any chance, have Google Analytics installed?
