Title: Error in Package Installation
Post by: letub on January 19, 2010, 07:39:15 PM
This is the first time trying to install SP 2.3.1 on my SMF RC2 forums, and I get this error while uploading through the package installer.

QuoteError in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

Then it shows:

3.     Execute Modification     ./Sources/Admin.php     Test failed
  1.     Replace     ./Sources/Admin.php     Test failed
  2.    Replace    ./Sources/Admin.php    Test successful
  3.    Replace    ./Sources/Admin.php    Test successful

Other than those two Test Failed errors is looks like everything else loaded fine, however, I wanted to check with the experts before final install. Thanks

What other mods do you have installed?

I would just backup the existing ./Sources/Admin.php file and go ahead with the install
this happens when you have mods installed
if everything is fine - enjoy  :D

First, take a back-up of your Admin.php file.

Note the failed edit, ignore the error and install the mod.

Get Admin.php from your FTP and apply the failed edit manually, then update the file on FTP.

At this point, if you see a problem, just replace your Admin.php file with the one you backed-up at first step.
