I see you have a fix here for SP 2.3.3 for a Broken copyright when using SMF 2.0 Final ..
I just upgraded from SMF 1.1.14 to SMF 1.1.15 and now my SP Copyright is broken :'(
Will the Same fix here --> http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=9516.msg49721#msg49721 work ?
If not, what manual edits can be done to put back the copyright in the correct place..
See my post on SMF --> http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=227599.msg3164896#msg3164896 for a Pic

Of course, 1.1.15 users cannot use the same Subs-Portal.php as SMF 2.0 users.
It looks like SMF 1.1.15 might have the same copyright line as SMF 2.0.
So the change made to Subs-Portal.php might work...
You can try this manual change. Warning: I have not tested it.

Thanks, got it working ...

Seems that just by removing the LLC does the trick

Modifying SP's copyright, the method that it is generated, violates the license that it is distributed under. Making these edits are illegal.

This is just recovering from the copyright
the update to SMF 1.1.15 copyright was not longer in place
no question of modifying copyright SPs
just a fix >:-D

Doesn't matter, editing the function itself is illegal
-
I do not understand this
So would you rather that no copyright can be seen on our forum
I remove the fix
I do not want any problems :o
-
See, SimplePortal is under the same copyright as SMF 1.1, meaning that all generated copyright and the copyright function must not be touched without permission from SP's copyright holder (which is Sinan, as far as I know, please correct me if I'm wrong).
I know Angelina is trying to help here (and so would I), but encouraging the editing of that function could get some people in trouble legally because she is not the holder of the copyright., nor am I.

It's a controversial matter but yeah, I don't favor sharing edits to the copyright function. I'll remove them. I have posted a patched file for SMF 1.1 versions here as well:

Didn't SMF Remove the LLC form out of their copyright ?, I noticed you've put it back in your fix..
-
It has both, for compatibility with older versions like 1.1.14.

Glad you got the fix you need.
Although the posted fix was only to a SimplePortal file, not to any one of SMF's files, I can understand how this could cause confusion.
I apologize for causing the confusion. Thanks, Sinan, for making an end to that by posting the fixed SimplePortal file.
