I'm currently using SMF 1.1.7, and the following is my mod list...

1.     Affiliates      1.1
2.    SMF Sitemap    1.2.2
3.    SMF 1.0.14 / 1.1.6 Update    1.0
4.    Updated Registration Agreement    1.0
5.    Custom Profile Field Mod    3.19
6.    SimplePortal Classic    2.0.5
7.    SMF 1.0.15 / 1.1.7 Update    1.0
8.    Auto Email Inactive Users    1.7
9.    reCAPTCHA for SMF    0.9.5.3

I also had admin notepad and PM_Informer for awhile, but have since removed them, it should be noted that I also had an index.php error during removal of PM_Informer, when i went ahead with the uninstall, it crashed my forum and required me to manually edit out the line of code calling to the PM_Informer before it would work again.

Admin notepad removed without a hitch.

Any insight would be appreciated, as I would love to see SP 2.1.1 working on my forums.

Just for the record, my forums are located at http://www.blackstarstoryboards.net

Did you completely uninstall the SimplePortal 2.0.5, before trying the 2.1.1 install?

2.1.1 can only be upgraded from 2.1. If you are using an older version, first completely uninstall the old version and install the new one.

Your settings will be preserved, no worries about that.
