Title: Add a ShoutBox Page
Post by: SoSad on May 21, 2012, 05:13:44 AM
Hello, I need a help on how to put a new Page with the name "ShoutBox" where there is a FULL MODE shoutbox.
I wish to put it after MEMBERS. So it would look like this:
HOME | FORUM | SEARCH | PROFILE | MY MESSAGES | CALENDARS | MEMBERS | "CHAT" |

I hope someone could help me.
Thank you so much. Have a good day!  :)

You need to get a mod from SMF site to make the menu and use SPortal to make the page.
All the answers you need are in this topic:

BTW
This is not custom coding - it is ok in support.

Thank you soo much for responding.. When I installed Menu Editor Lite, my FORUMS menu just disappear.  :O
I think there is a bug.

Its not a bug - that's the way it works - it says that on the discussion page for the mod over at SMF.

You have to rebuild your menus - names and links.

SoSad,

Your earlier entries to this thread suggest a custom page opened by a custom button/link (button created by another mod).
Am I to assume you are now using a standard block?
Edit the block and opt Advanced Options where you can select actions, boards or enter specifics.

SoSad,

Perhaps I should have asked about the specifics of your setup as I assumed you opted a block instead due to how the question was worded.

Your custom page would be accessed via:  http://YOUR-SITE/index.php?page=chat
(edit YOUR-SITE with the appropriate url text)
It will only appear when someone presses the button/link that you created (with the add buttons/links mod).

Here's my setup:
1)I created a page with simple portal. Its page ID is: chat.
2)I created a new menu called 'Chat' and linked it to this URL: http://MY-SITE/index.php?page=chat.(I created the menu with another mod)

The shoutbox works if I set the block to display in ALL PAGES. But I want the shoutbox to display only in the page i created for chat. I don't know what to input in the Custom Display Options:

SoSad,

Do not select 'all pages' but rather check the box of the page that you created for this (referenced by title btw).
Make sure nothing else but the above is opted for actions, boards & pages.
