Title: Need help with two background images setting
Post by: Kottie on July 07, 2012, 11:29:33 PM
Hi,

I am unable to put two background images on the page. I have attached the screenshot of what I am trying to accomplish. I want the 1st background image to be stay like think round border for the portal/forum and the random background image will display as 2nd in the back like I mentioned in the screenshot. I am using the php script to rotate the random images as explained in this smf topic (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=263203.0). The random image part is working but the first bg is not displaying at all.

I tried

body { background-image: url(rotate.php), url(1st bg image); }

and also

body { background-image: url(1st bg image), url(rotate.php); }

but still no go. Please help me out or guide me to the location where it is already been explained.

Thank you

Kottie,

It seems that you want to do stuff in your theme, and outside the area covered by Simple Portal.
It seems like the advice in the simple machines forum is good for your rotator.
But, well, I don't know what the issue is with the border.
A link to your forum might help -- I don't know what theme you are using, after all.

Curve, for example, does not have an "extra" wrapper around the content section to place a second image, and that might be exactly what you need.
