Hi,
In my forum, i added a recent topics block to it. But to my suprise its bringing down my SEO because topic links in it have "nofollow=" tags.
How can i remove this?
Thanks

The reason for the nofollow links in the recent topics block is that this causes "double" links to these topics.
The topics are also found through the forum index, down through to the board index, and to those topics.
you can make any changes you like to the code in PortalBlocks.php. Look for function sp_recent, and find, in that function, where it says nofollow
Does that make sense?

Absolutely! :D
Thanks alot :)

Just to be thorough, I am going to state this one more time, in a slightly different way.:
In terms of search engine ranking, those links already appear in the ranking simply because they are linked from your board directory. You are not losing anything in terms of search engine ranking because of the nofollow on the recent topics block.
You are unlikely to gain anything by removing rel="nofollow" from the links in the recent topics block.
That said, of course, please enjoy customizing SimplePortal, and do some tests on rankings before and after you make the change to see if you can observe any difference after the next time your site is crawled.
Good Luck!
