Title: Using with Split Forums mod?
Post by: skeletonkiss on August 04, 2014, 04:22:07 PM
So, I want to have two 'forums', but basically share everything, database, members, etc. Initially I intended to do this as a sub board and multiple nested boards within, but realized this would look ugly as sin. Then I discovered this (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3730) mod, which does exactly what I wanted.

The problem is, that mod, while essentially creating a secondary 'forum' within a forum, allowing categories and boards, child boards, etc, it does not give it it's own unique board index. So all SP blocks set to 'display on forum', show up there, and I cannot exclude them.

What I would like, ideally, would be to find a way to have a -second- 'forum' setting for SP, so say I have blocks a, b, and c, and I want them to show on the 'forum' index of my main board. And blocks d, e and F, I want to show on my secondary forum, 'forum1'. I don't want d/e/f showing on the main forum's index. And I don't want these blocks showing up in individual forums; I'm aware that option exists, and it's not what I want.

I'm putting a screen shot here. You can see I have top and side blocks in place.

What I want, in case I'm not explaining this right, is to have more then one of whatever SP calls the 'forum' page'; when you -just- set a block to show on the 'forum', it ONLY shows on the board index. As there is now a second 'board' created by this mod, how can I have a second 'board index'? It doesn't seem, in theory, like this should be impossible...
