Title: Not able to post links in shoutbox?
Post by: Cucumbers on August 22, 2014, 09:38:39 AM
SMF Version: 2.0.8
SP Version: 2.3.5

The shoutbox isn't visible to guests, should I make a test user account for you guys..? I don't know the protocol for that.

Forgive me if this is a known/simple issue - I did search, I promise!

Our users cannot post links in the shoutbox. They'll just get a refresh circle spinning indefinitely. Seems to work if we wrap the link in the url bbcode, but otherwise nothing happens.

Any way to fix this?

Hello and welcome to the SimplePortal! I apologize for the extremely late response.

If you still require assistance;

1. You should set Permissions option to Everyone for both the shoutbox itself (Admin > SimplePortal > Shoutbox) and the block using that shoutbox (Admin > SimplePortal > Blocks).

2. I'll have to debug it myself to see what's going on. If you create me a test account and send it to me by a personal message here, I could have a look at it for you.
