Title: Why does my home page show "Welcome to Simple Portal" ??

By default Simple Portal creates a Custom HTML block titled Welcome which is located in your list of top blocks.
You can change the text within that block or remove it altogether by editing your list of blocks.

Navigate to:
Admin > SimplePortal > Blocks

Look within the list of top blocks and find the one titled Welcome. Either delete or edit this block using the command icons/links located under the Action heading.
