Title: dynamically adding blocks
Post by: masterzonk on February 25, 2015, 12:35:27 PM
Hello all,

Using 2.3.2 at the moment. Already have a custom page which allows certain users update variables used in a custom php block. Essentially they are able to update Hyperlinks based of their needs without actually seeing or needing to see the underlining code. I want to be able to take a step further and actually have them create a new block.  So I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction for creating a block template of some sort. Hope thats a little clearer than mud. Thanks for any feedback.

Hi and welcome to SimplePortal!
First off, please update to SP 2.3.6, and keep an eye on updates, they are not being done just for fun, there are many bug fixes and improvements in those ;)
Also... Don't know if you didn't update your profile or something but if you are running smf 1.1.1 then you should seriously update IMMEDIATELY. That version has lots of security issues and bugs that even a newbie coder could hack into it if knew how to.

Besides I don't think that there is a way to let them create blocks unless you give them the relative permission, but if you do that they will be able to edit ALL blocks, not only their own :/
