I don't have enough php knowledge to help you, but even if I had it in all conscience I would never ever help you to support an extremely outdated and dangerous modification.
I highly recommend you to choose another gallery from the ones available, either free or paid.

Also, since your profile says that you are running SMF 2.0.7 I also highly recommend you to update at least to 2.0.9 (2.0.7 has 2 security issues as far as I know that have been fixed in 2.0.8 ) and if possible to 2.0.10 (just bug fixes already fixed on my own forum). As well as SimplePortal I highly recommend you to update it to 2.3.6, given that there are a number of bugs with the old 2.3.5 that have been fixed in 2.3.6.
