Title: Is there a way to make a Block a default Block
Post by: SniffTheGlove on July 24, 2015, 11:52:33 AM
Hi,

I have quite a few Static SP Pages on my site and when in edit mode you have to highlight what block you want to show when someone views that SP Page.

I have just come across this little issue when I added an additional block to my site. A while later I went to view one of my SP Pages and the block was missing that that SP Page.

So to fix this I have to go into every SP Page and edit it to highlight the new block. This can get quiet tideous at times.

Is there a way to group blocks as defaut, so when you create a new SP Page you can get select DEFAULT in the block list and that way all your default blocks will be shown.

I hope you understand what I am saying/getting y point across.

I just wouls like to know if there is an easy way to create a block and have it be shown automatically with a group of block with each SP Page without having to edit EACH SP Page to put the block into the view.

Thanks

Hi SniffTheGlove

Of course it's tedious, that's why there is a way to do it ;) In the block display options just do this
Quote
Show Block On  All Pages
Or, if you click on Advanced Options, you can even select the pages you want it to show up!

Thanks,

I always took that to mean ALL Website Pages.

Thanks  :-[

No problem, we all used to be beginners with it or misunderstood something at least once :)

Hope you don't mind if I mark the topic as solved in the meantime. If you have doubts or further questions feel free to post again or open a new topic.
