Title: Remove HTML code within Block
Post by: wizzo on December 05, 2016, 12:00:48 PM
I created a Custom HTML Left Block and placed HTML code for an advert within it. The HTML code within the block has forced the left blocks to 100% width. This now means I cannot see or access the forum or the admin area to delete the code. All I can see is the all the left blocks at 100% width!

All I need to do is delete the HTML code within the block, I've searched everywhere that I can think of but I can't find it. Where would simple portal store the HTML code that I've placed in the left block?

Many thanks

Wiz

Edit - Found it! Went to the Database, located smf_sp_parameters and deleted the rouge HTML. Lesson Learnt, ALWAYS make a custom HTML block collapsible until youre sure it works!!

Hi wizzo, welcome to SimplePortal.

Could have easily inspected the page with the browser (right click, inspect element) and either removed the code there to access the admin area or just edited to hide it and remove it properly later on ;) You kinda went for the non-recommended way (messing with the database is hardly a good idea) but you actually got it right, so kudos to you for doing it and posting the solution as well :)

Seeing what you said, I'll go ahead and mark the topic as solved (in the future you can do so yourself, by hitting the "Topic solved" button at the bottom of the topic itself). Feel free to post again if you need further help (about this or other issues).

Regards, and have a nice day :)
