Title: Can not install it anymore. "Parse Error"
Post by: DarkTexas on February 19, 2017, 10:52:26 AM
Hello,

when trying to install SimlePortal it's giving me a "Modification parse error". I have tried deleteing the /Package/install.xml - it did not help. Everytime that error occurs I can load a backup of the /temp/ folder again, since it's breaking it up.

I can not install SimplePortal.

I have to say, I had to re-install (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_to_upload_a_fresh_set_of_files) to since our Forum was bugged.

What is the problem?

Hi, I had the same exact issue a while ago on a test server with another mod.
It's most likely a pretty bad server, and the fact that you mentioned you had to reinstall because it bugged out makes me think of it even more :/
What host are you on? GoDaddy/Hostgator/1&1 and similars would explain it.

Regards

Make sure your directory has the proper permissions. 777 and 775 work the best.
