What is the ETA? and what are the qualifications for being a beta tester site?

If you wanna be a beta tester you have to report lots of bugs, and properly ;D.

Currently there is no public estimated release date for SimplePortal 2.2.
Beta testers are nominated/chosen by the Dev team. Generally we choose people that have a decent coding background so that they can report bugs and then work out what is going wrong. We also don't recommend that our Beta testers test possibly unstable beta versions on their live websites.

Hi there !
With the new SMF 2.0 there will be a new theme called curve. Will the new SP 2.2 also be fully compatible with that? So I can first upgrade SMF, then upgrade SP and than switch without much headache to the theme curve?
Would be very nice :D

Curve is not available until SMF 2.0 RC2. With RC2, changes will probably need to be made for SP.
When a 2.0 RC2 compatible version is released, it will support curve.

The compatibility with curve you have written, that will come, is that already in the SP 2.2 or will curve need a SP 2.3?
Just to know a little bit of the compatibility roadmap.

Whether that's SimplePortal 2.2.6 or 2.3 or 2.5, we'll let you know when it comes.

Ive noticed, that main Simple Portal page uses now SP 2.2 Beta 3 (last time ive checked it was Beta 2), so it's coming (at least RC - maybe). :) Beside if You look at some SP Team members private sites (pointing finger on Jade ;P), You can see SP 2.2 in action too.

SimplePortal is theme independent. Means it will work with any theme that uses SMF theme structure.

I don't think they have any of the fancy features? I was wondering why I could suddenly do a "random poll" block though :-X.

Anyway, I'm not blonde. So don't expect me to tell you that there are some intelligent blocks in the new version which detect a related mod if installed and either makes use of it or fetches information from mod, based on the block type.
